I am one of the lucky few who was fortunate to have grown up with Doberman Pinschers. As an adult, I bought my first Doberman, Kai, from a local breeder in 2001. He led me into the world of dog sports through obedience, as well as, Doberman rescue. I served with Houston Area Doberman Rescue for several years as a foster.
When Kai passed away in 2011, I contacted Michelle Santana at Foxfire Dobermans to inquire about getting on her waitlist for a black, female puppy to show. I'm not entirely sure that I knew what I was getting into when I said I wanted to "try" showing dogs! It had been a dream of mine since I was a small child watching the Westminster Dog Show on TV. Little did I know that reaching out to Michelle would lead to an ongoing mentorship from one of the most influential breeders of our time. Michelle sent Siri, now GCH Sunny N Foxfire's Starstruck CAX CGC, to live with me in TX in March of 2012. From the moment she stepped off the plane she was The Queen of our household. She introduced me to conformation shows and I was bitten by the “show bug” when she won her first points. We also explored agility, lure coursing, dock diving, rally, and obedience. In 2015, I bred my first litter after Michelle somehow convinced me to do it! Siri is the foundation of Sirai Dobermans. Each and every puppy born here descends directly from Siri. I breed on a very limited basis. To date I have bred multiple champions, a group winner, a Best In Senior Maturity at the National, Bred By Exhibitor class winner at the National and Regional Convention, Winners Bitch/Best of Winners at 2 Regionals, Best Bred By Exhibitor at a Regional, as well as, several performance titled dogs in Agility, Rally, Lure Coursing, Dock Diving, and Nose Work. However, my proudest dog breeder accomplishment is producing the many amazing companion pups that enrich the lives of their families every day! I serve as the President of the Doberman Pinscher Club of Houston, and chair a committee for the Doberman Pinscher Club of America. I am also an AKC Breeder of Merit. I am employed by an Oil & Gas Company and typically spend my weekends at a dog show. |
